OLD & PROUD
Finally made it over to Old & Proud, Spain. September is always an intense month here at the office, launching the new collection, starting up SS27 production and getting the current winter collection out the door. So squeezing in a bike trip isn’t always easy. This year our annual Sunburn chopper trip happened to fall at exactly the same time. The original plan was to ride the choppers from Belgium down to the event and then keep the adventure going for another week.
With everything happening at work, I had to cut the trip short. I finally managed to escape the office on Tuesday afternoon, but took the ST instead of the chopper as I had to be back behind my desk by Monday.
The rest of the crew had left early that morning, so I spent the afternoon playing catch-up and finally found them somewhere near Dijon. We found a camping spot for the night, grabbed some food and caught up on how their first day had gone.
The next morning we set off with the idea of getting as close to the Spanish border as possible. After a full day of French highways, terrible traffic around Lyon and a few bike issues that needed sorting along the way, we were happy to call it a day in Sérignan.
The following morning we finally crossed the Spanish border and headed into the hills, taking the winding roads south and ending the day just before Barcelona.
Friday, early afternoon, we finally rolled into Calafell.
As usual, I completely forgot to take enough pictures or little films along the way. But we had planned a small shoot of the new AW collection with two of our Spanish friends and Daniel, who was also shooting the event.
So here are some images of Dennis and Alex at Old & Proud, wearing Eat Dust AW ‘26.
Sunday was a different story. Woke up at 4:30 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep, so F.... it , on the bike by 5:30 and pointed north. Rode pretty much all day and made it back home around 7:30p.m.
It went from Crispy mornings to toasty afternoons into rainy evenings.
1,450 km in one day, a total of 14.40 hours in the saddle. And straight back to the office on Monday morning.
Time well spent.
