Book: JACQUES MOESCHAL (1913 - 2004)

Together with curator Angelique Campens & Architecture Curating Practice BOZAR dove into the archives of architect & sculptor Jacques Moeschal (1913-2004). As a student at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels he quickly became fascinated by the sculptural possibilities of concrete. During the democratisation process following WW II in Belgium, Moeschal became well known by the larger public for his monumental sculptures alongside the highway network. Passers-by marvelled at the sight of Moeschal's imposing works. They livened up our otherwise boring highways. This book zooms in on the relationship between art & archictecture in Moeschal's underrated oeuvre.
